The AC will be solely responsible for all academic matters, such as framing academic policy, approval of courses, syllabi and regulations etc. The AC shall be the principal academic body of the College and shall, subject to provision of rules of the College, have the control over and be responsible for the maintenance of standards of education, teaching and training, inter-departmental co-ordination, research, examination and tests within the College.

Composition:

• Principal of the College as the Chairman, Ex-officio.
• All heads of teaching departments.
• Two senior most teachers of the College representing different faculties of teaching staff nominated by the Principal.
• Two specialists from outside the College representing Commerce, Education, Industry, Law, Medicine and Engineering etc. having post-graduate. qualification nominated by EC from the panel of names submitted by the Principal. Three nominees of Sambalpur University.
• A senior most faculty member of the College to be nominated by the Principal as Member Secretary of the AC.

Powers and Functions:

• To exercise general supervision over the academic work.
• To prescribe curriculum/course of studies for courses leading to degrees and diplomas; • To scrutinize and approve the proposals of BoS with or without modification.
• To formulate rules and regulations for conduct of examinations and evaluation.
• To formulate rules and regulations for admission.
• To take a periodic review of the activities of various departments.
• To avail the service of guest faculty.
