Year of opening of the Department: 1966-67

The Department of History in Rayagada College was opened in Academic Session 1966-67 with teaching facility in Pre University (P.U) Degree Classes in Arts Started from the Academic Session 1968-69. Honours Course in History was opened in the Academic Session 1977-78.

The Department imparted teaching facilities in:

• +2 Arts Stream.
• History Hons in UG.
• History Hons in PG.
• Land Marks of Indian History as Elective Subject
